1. And it shall be when thou shalt have entered into the land, which the Lord thy God gives thee to inherit it, and thou shalt have inherited it, and thou shalt have dwelt upon it,

2. that thou shalt take of the first of the fruits of thy land, which the Lord thy God gives thee, and thou shalt put them into a basket, and thou shalt go to the place which the Lord thy God shall choose to have his name called there.

2. That thou shalt take H3947 of the first H4480 H7225 of all H3605 the fruit H6529 of the earth H127 , which H834 thou shalt bring H935 of thy land H4480 H776 that H834 the LORD H3068 thy God H430 giveth H5414 thee , and shalt put H7760 it in a basket H2935 , and shalt go H1980 unto H413 the place H4725 which H834 the LORD H3068 thy God H430 shall choose H977 to place H7931 his name H8034 there H8033 .

3. And thou shalt come to the priest who shall be in those days, and thou shalt say to him, I testify this day to the Lord my God, that I am come into the land which the Lord sware to our fathers to give to us.

And thou shalt go H935 unto H413 the priest H3548 that H834 shall be H1961 in those H1992 days H3117 , and say H559 unto H413 him , I profess H5046 this day H3117 unto the LORD H3068 thy God H430 , that H3588 I am come H935 unto H413 the country H776 which H834 the LORD H3068 swore H7650 unto our fathers H1 for to give H5414 us.

4. And the priest shall take the basket out of thine hands, and shall set it before the altar of the Lord thy God:
|
4. And the priest H3548 shall take H3947 the basket H2935 out of thine hand H4480 H3027 , and set it down H5117 before H6440 the altar H4196 of the LORD H3068 thy God H430 .

|
5. and he shall answer and say before the Lord thy God, My father abandoned Syria, and went down into Egypt, and sojourned there with a small number, and became there a mighty nation and a great multitude.
|

And thou shalt speak H6030 and say H559 before H6440 the LORD H3068 thy God H430 , A Syrian H761 ready to perish H6 was my father H1 , and he went down H3381 into Egypt H4714 , and sojourned H1481 there H8033 with a few H4692 H4592 , and became H1961 there H8033 a nation H1471 , great H1419 , mighty H6099 , and populous H7227 :

6. And the Egyptians afflicted us, and humbled us, and imposed hard tasks on us:

7. and we cried to the Lord our God, and the Lord heard our voice, and saw our humiliation, and our labour, and our affliction.

8. And the Lord brought us out of Egypt himself with his great strength, and his mighty hand, and his high arm, and with great visions, and with signs, and with wonders.

9. And he brought us into this place, and gave us this land, a land flowing with milk and honey.

10. And now, behold, I have brought the first of the fruits of the land, which thou gavest me, O Lord, a land flowing with milk and honey: and thou shalt leave it before the Lord thy God, and thou shalt worship before the Lord thy God;

11. and thou shalt rejoice in all the good things, which the Lord thy God has given thee, thou and thy family, and the Levite, and the stranger that is within thee.

11. And thou shalt rejoice H8055 in every H3605 good H2896 thing which H834 the LORD H3068 thy God H430 hath given H5414 unto thee , and unto thine house H1004 , thou H859 , and the Levite H3881 , and the stranger H1616 that H834 is among H7130 you.

12. And when thou shalt have completed all the tithings of thy fruits in the third year, thou shalt give the second tenth to the Levite, and stranger, and fatherless, and widow; and they shall eat it in thy cities, and be merry.
|
12. 13. And thou shalt say before the Lord thy God, I have fully collected the holy things out of my house, and I have given them to the Levite, and the stranger, and the orphan, and the widow, according to all commands which thou didst command me: I did not transgress thy command, and I did not forget it.

13. Then thou shalt say H559 before H6440 the LORD H3068 thy God H430 , I have brought away H1197 the hallowed things H6944 out of H4480 mine house H1004 , and also H1571 have given H5414 them unto the Levite H3881 , and unto the stranger H1616 , to the fatherless H3490 , and to the widow H490 , according to all H3605 thy commandments H4687 which H834 thou hast commanded H6680 me : I have not H3808 transgressed H5674 thy commandments H4480 H4687 , neither H3808 have I forgotten H7911 them :

14. And in my distress I did not eat of them, I have not gathered of them for an unclean Or, person purpose, I have not given of them to the dead; I have hearkened to the voice of the Lord our God, I have done as thou hast commanded me.

14. I have not H3808 eaten H398 thereof H4480 in my mourning H205 , neither H3808 have I taken away H1197 aught thereof H4480 for any unclean H2931 use , nor H3808 given H5414 aught thereof H4480 for the dead H4191 : but I have hearkened H8085 to the voice H6963 of the LORD H3068 my God H430 , and have done H6213 according to all H3605 that H834 thou hast commanded H6680 me.

15. Look down from thy holy house, from heaven, and bless thy people Israel, and the land which thou hast given them, as thou didst swear to our fathers, to give to us a land flowing with milk and honey.

16. On this day the Lord thy God charged thee to keep all the ordinances and judgements; and ye shall observe and do them, with all your heart, and with all your soul.

17. Thou hast chosen God this day to be thy God, and to walk in all his ways, and to observe his ordinances and judgements, and to hearken to his voice.

18. And the Lord has chosen thee this day that thou shouldest be to him a peculiar people, as he said, to keep his commands;

19. and that thou shouldest be above all nations, as he has made thee renowned, and a boast, and glorious, that thou shouldest be a holy people to the Lord thy God, as he has spoken.

19. And to make H5414 thee high H5945 above H5921 all H3605 nations H1471 which H834 he hath made H6213 , in praise H8416 , and in name H8034 , and in honor H8597 ; and that thou mayest be H1961 a holy H6918 people H5971 unto the LORD H3068 thy God H430 , as H834 he hath spoken H1696 .
