1. The Lord said to Moses,

2. "Make two silver horns of beaten silver. Use them for calling the people together and for having the people move on.
|
2. Make H6213 thee two H8147 trumpets H2689 of silver H3701 ; of a whole piece H4749 shalt thou make H6213 them : that thou mayest use H1961 them for the calling H4744 of the assembly H5712 , and for the journeying H4550 H853 of the camps H4264 .
|
|
3. When both horns sound, all the people will gather in front of you at the door of the meeting tent.
|
3. And when they shall blow H8628 with them, all H3605 the assembly H5712 shall assemble themselves H3259 to H413 thee at H413 the door H6607 of the tabernacle H168 of the congregation H4150 .
|
|
4. If only one horn sounds, then the leaders, the heads of the families of Israel, will gather in front of you.
|
4. And if H518 they blow H8628 but with one H259 trumpet , then the princes H5387 , which are heads H7218 of the thousands H505 of Israel H3478 , shall gather themselves H3259 unto H413 thee.

5. When you blow the horn to tell of danger, the people whose tents are on the east side will leave.
|
5. When ye blow H8628 an alarm H8643 , then the camps H4264 that lie H2583 on the east parts H6924 shall go forward H5265 .
|
|
6. When you blow the horn to tell of danger a second time, the people whose tents are on the south side will leave. A horn telling of danger will be blown when they are to move on.
|
6. When ye blow H8628 an alarm H8643 the second time H8145 , then the camps H4264 that lie H2583 on the south side H8486 shall take their journey H5265 : they shall blow H8628 an alarm H8643 for their journeys H4550 .
|
|
7. But when the people are to be gathered together, you will blow the horn without the sound of danger.
|
7. But when H853 the congregation H6951 is to be gathered together H6950 , ye shall blow H8628 , but ye shall not H3808 sound an alarm H7321 .
|
|
8. Aaron's sons, the religious leaders, will blow the horns. This will be a Law for all your people forever.
|
8. And the sons H1121 of Aaron H175 , the priests H3548 , shall blow H8628 with the trumpets H2689 ; and they shall be H1961 to you for an ordinance H2708 forever H5769 throughout your generations H1755 .

|
9. When you go to war in your land against those who fight you, then sound the horns to tell of war. That way you will be remembered before the Lord your God, and be saved from those who hate you.
|
9. And if H3588 ye go H935 to war H4421 in your land H776 against H5921 the enemy H6862 that oppresseth H6887 you , then ye shall blow an alarm H7321 with the trumpets H2689 ; and ye shall be remembered H2142 before H6440 the LORD H3068 your God H430 , and ye shall be saved H3467 from your enemies H4480 H341 .

10. On the days you are glad and at the time of your special suppers and on the first days of your months, blow the horns. Blow the horns over your burnt gifts and over your peace gifts. Then you will be remembered before your God. I am the Lord your God."

10. Also in the day H3117 of your gladness H8057 , and in your solemn days H4150 , and in the beginnings H7218 of your months H2320 , ye shall blow H8628 with the trumpets H2689 over H5921 your burnt offerings H5930 , and over H5921 the sacrifices H2077 of your peace offerings H8002 ; that they may be H1961 to you for a memorial H2146 before H6440 your God H430 : I H589 am the LORD H3068 your God H430 .

11. On the twentieth day of the second month in the second year, the cloud was lifted from over the meeting tent of the Law.
|
11. And it came to pass H1961 on the twentieth H6242 day of the second H8145 month H2320 , in the second H8145 year H8141 , that the cloud H6051 was taken up H5927 from off H4480 H5921 the tabernacle H4908 of the testimony H5715 .

|
12. The people of Israel moved on from the Desert of Sinai. Then the cloud came down and rested in the desert of Paran.
|
12. And the children H1121 of Israel H3478 took H5265 their journeys H4550 out of the wilderness H4480 H4057 of Sinai H5514 ; and the cloud H6051 rested H7931 in the wilderness H4057 of Paran H6290 .

13. So they moved for the first time as the Lord had told them through Moses.

14. The flag of the people of Judah left first, by their armies. Amminadab's son Nahshon was the head of their army.
|
14. In the first H7223 place went H5265 the standard H1714 of the camp H4264 of the children H1121 of Judah H3063 according to their armies H6635 : and over H5921 his host H6635 was Nahshon H5177 the son H1121 of Amminadab H5992 .

|
15. Zuar's son Nethanel was the head of the men of Issachar.
|
15. And over H5921 the host H6635 of the tribe H4294 of the children H1121 of Issachar H3485 was Nethaneel H5417 the son H1121 of Zuar H6686 .
|
|
16. And Helon's son Eliab was the head of the men of Zebulun.
|
16. And over H5921 the host H6635 of the tribe H4294 of the children H1121 of Zebulun H2074 was Eliab H446 the son H1121 of Helon H2497 .

17. When the meeting tent was taken down, the sons of Gershon and Merari left carrying it.
|
17. And the tabernacle H4908 was taken down H3381 ; and the sons H1121 of Gershon H1648 and the sons H1121 of Merari H4847 set forward H5265 , bearing H5375 the tabernacle H4908 .

18. Next the flag of the people of Reuben left, by their armies. Shedeur's son Elizur was the head over this army.

18. And the standard H1714 of the camp H4264 of Reuben H7205 set forward H5265 according to their armies H6635 : and over H5921 his host H6635 was Elizur H468 the son H1121 of Shedeur H7707 .

19. Zurishaddai's son Shelumiel was the head of the men of Simeon.
|
19. And over H5921 the host H6635 of the tribe H4294 of the children H1121 of Simeon H8095 was Shelumiel H8017 the son H1121 of Zurishaddai H6701 .
|
|
20. Deuel's son Eliasaph was the head of the men of Gad.
|
20. And over H5921 the host H6635 of the tribe H4294 of the children H1121 of Gad H1410 was Eliasaph H460 the son H1121 of Deuel H1845 .
|
|
21. Then the Kohathites left, carrying the holy objects. The meeting tent was set up before they came to the next place.
|

22. Next the flag of the people of Ephraim left, by their armies. Ammihud's son Elishama was the head over this army.

23. Pedahzur's son Gamaliel was the head of the men of Manasseh.
|

24. Gideoni's son Abidan was the head of the men of Benjamin.
|

25. Then the flag of the people of Dan left, by their armies. They followed behind all the people of Israel, to watch for danger. Ammishaddai's son Ahiezer was the head over this army.

25. And the standard H1714 of the camp H4264 of the children H1121 of Dan H1835 set forward H5265 , which was the rearward H622 of all H3605 the camps H4264 throughout their hosts H6635 : and over H5921 his host H6635 was Ahiezer H295 the son H1121 of Ammishaddai H5996 .

|

28. This was how the people of Israel moved on by their armies.
|
28. Thus H428 were the journeyings H4550 of the children H1121 of Israel H3478 according to their armies H6635 , when they set forward H5265 .
|
|
29. Then Moses said to Hobab the son of Reuel the Midianite, Moses' father-in-law, "We are going to the place the Lord said He will give to us. Come with us and we will do you good. For the Lord has promised good to Israel."
|
29. 30. But Hobab said to him, "I will not come. I will go to my own land and family."
|
30. And he said H559 unto H413 him , I will not H3808 go H1980 ; but H3588 I H518 will depart H1980 to H413 mine own land H776 , and to H413 my kindred H4138 .

31. Moses said, "I beg you, do not leave us. For you know where we should stay in the desert. You will be like eyes for us.
|
31. And he said H559 , Leave H5800 us not H408 , I pray thee H4994 ; forasmuch H3588 H5921 H3651 as thou knowest H3045 how we are to encamp H2583 in the wilderness H4057 , and thou mayest be H1961 to us instead of eyes H5869 .

|
32. If you go with us, we will do for you whatever good the Lord does for us."
|
32. And it shall be H1961 , if H3588 thou go H1980 with H5973 us, yea , it shall be H1961 , that what H834 goodness H2896 the LORD H3068 shall do H3190 unto H5973 us , the same will we do H3190 unto thee.

33. So they traveled for three days from the mountain of the Lord with the special box with the Law of the Lord in front of them looking for a place for them to rest.
|
33. And they departed H5265 from the mount H4480 H2022 of the LORD H3068 three H7969 days H3117 ' journey H1870 : and the ark H727 of the covenant H1285 of the LORD H3068 went H5265 before H6440 them in the three H7969 days H3117 ' journey H1870 , to search out H8446 a resting place H4496 for them.

34. The cloud of the Lord was over them during the day, when they moved on.
|
34. And the cloud H6051 of the LORD H3068 was upon H5921 them by day H3119 , when they went H5265 out of H4480 the camp H4264 .
|
|
35. When the special box of the Lord moved on, Moses said, "Rise up, O Lord! Let those who hate You be divided. Let those who hate You run away before You."
|
35. And it came to pass H1961 , when the ark H727 set forward H5265 , that Moses H4872 said H559 , Rise up H6965 , LORD H3068 , and let thine enemies H341 be scattered H6327 ; and let them that hate H8130 thee flee H5127 before H4480 H6440 thee.

36. And when it rested, he said, "Return, O Lord, to the many thousands of Israel."
|
