2. Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy, and say to the shepherds, Thus saith the Lord God; O shepherds of Israel, do shepherds feed themselves? do not the shepherds feed the sheep?
|
2. Son H1121 of man H120 , prophesy H5012 against H5921 the shepherds H7462 of Israel H3478 , prophesy H5012 , and say H559 unto H413 them, Thus H3541 saith H559 the Lord H136 GOD H3069 unto the shepherds H7462 ; Woe H1945 be to the shepherds H7462 of Israel H3478 that H834 do feed H1961 H7462 themselves! should not H3808 the shepherds H7462 feed H7462 the flocks H6629 ?

3. Behold, ye feed on the milk, and clothe yourselves with the wool, and slay the fat: but ye feed not my sheep.
|
3. Ye eat H398 H853 the fat H2459 , and ye clothe H3847 you with H854 the wool H6785 , ye kill H2076 them that are fed H1277 : but ye feed H7462 not H3808 the flock H6629 .

|
4. The weak one ye have not strengthened, and the sick ye have not cherished, and the bruised ye have not bound up, and the stray one ye have not turned back, and the lost ye have not sought; and the strong ye have wearied with labour.
|
4. H853 The diseased H2470 have ye not H3808 strengthened H2388 , neither H3808 have ye healed H7495 that which was sick H2470 , neither H3808 have ye bound up H2280 that which was broken H7665 , neither H3808 have ye brought again H7725 that which was driven away H5080 , neither H3808 have ye sought H1245 that which was lost H6 ; but with force H2394 and with cruelty H6531 have ye ruled H7287 them.

5. And my sheep were scattered, because there were no shepherds: and they became meat to all the wild beasts of the field.

|
6. And my sheep were scattered on every mountain, and on every high hill: yea, they were scattered on the face of the earth, and there was none to seek them out, nor to bring them back.

7. Therefore, ye shepherds, hear the word of the Lord.

8. As I live, saith the Lord God, surely because my sheep became a prey, and my sheep became meat to all the wild beasts of the field, because there were no shepherds, and the shepherds sought not out my sheep, and the shepherds fed themselves, but fed not my sheep.

9. For this cause, O shepherds,
|
9. Therefore H3651 , O ye shepherds H7462 , hear H8085 the word H1697 of the LORD H3068 ;
|
|
10. Alex. +’hear the word of the Lord’ thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I am against the shepherds; and I will require my sheep at their hands, and will turn them back that they shall not feed my sheep, and the shepherds shall no longer feed them; and I will deliver my sheep out of their mouth, and they shall no longer be meat for them.

Thus H3541 saith H559 the Lord H136 GOD H3069 ; Behold H2009 , I am against H413 the shepherds H7462 ; and I will require H1875 H853 my flock H6629 at their hand H4480 H3027 , and cause them to cease H7673 from feeding H4480 H7462 the flock H6629 ; neither H3808 shall the shepherds H7462 feed H7462 themselves any more H5750 ; for I will deliver H5337 my flock H6629 from their mouth H4480 H6310 , that they may not H3808 be H1961 meat H402 for them.

11. For thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I will seek out my sheep, and will visit them.
|
11. For H3588 thus H3541 saith H559 the Lord H136 GOD H3069 ; Behold H2009 , I, even I H589 , will both search H1875 H853 my sheep H6629 , and seek them out H1239 .
|
|
12. As the shepherd seeks his flock, in the day when there is darkness and cloud, in the midst of the sheep that are separated: so will I seek out my sheep, and will Lit. drive them away; Alex. gather bring them back from every place where they were scattered in the day of cloud and darkness.
|
12. As a shepherd H7462 seeketh out H1243 his flock H5739 in the day H3117 that he is H1961 among H8432 his sheep H6629 that are scattered H6566 ; so H3651 will I seek out H1239 H853 my sheep H6629 , and will deliver H5337 them out of all H4480 H3605 places H4725 where H834 H8033 they have been scattered H6327 in the cloudy H6051 and dark H6205 day H3117 .

13. And I will bring them out from the Gentiles, and will gather them from the countries, and will bring them into their own land, and will feed them upon the mountains of Israel, and in the valleys, and in every inhabited place of the land.
|
13. And I will bring them out H3318 from H4480 the people H5971 , and gather H6908 them from H4480 the countries H776 , and will bring H935 them to H413 their own land H127 , and feed H7462 them upon H413 the mountains H2022 of Israel H3478 by the rivers H650 , and in all H3605 the inhabited places H4186 of the country H776 .

14. I will feed them in a good pasture, on a high mountain of Israel: and their folds shall be there, and they shall lie down, and there shall they rest in perfect prosperity, and they shall feed in a fat pasture on the mountains of Israel.
|
14. 15. I will feed my sheep, and I will cause them to rest; and they shall know that I am the Lord: thus saith the Lord God.
|

|
16. I will seek that which is lost, and I will recover the stray one, and will bind up that which was broken, and will strengthen the fainting, and will guard the strong, and will feed them with judgement.
|
16. I will seek H1245 H853 that which was lost H6 , and bring again H7725 that which was driven away H5080 , and will bind up H2280 that which was broken H7665 , and will strengthen H2388 that which was sick H2470 : but I will destroy H8045 the fat H8082 and the strong H2389 ; I will feed H7462 them with judgment H4941 .

17. And as for you, ye sheep, thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I will distinguish between sheep and sheep, between rams and he-goats.

17. And as for you H859 , O my flock H6629 , thus H3541 saith H559 the Lord H136 GOD H3069 ; Behold H2009 , I judge H8199 between H996 cattle H7716 and cattle H7716 , between the rams H352 and the he goats H6260 .

|
18. And is it not enough for you that ye fed on the good pasture, that ye trampled with your feet the remnant of your pasture? and that ye drank the standing water, that ye disturbed the residue with your feet?
|
18. Seemeth it a small thing H4592 unto H4480 you to have eaten up H7462 the good H2896 pasture H4829 , but ye must tread down H7429 with your feet H7272 the residue H3499 of your pastures H4829 ? and to have drunk H8354 of the deep H4950 waters H4325 , but ye must foul H7515 the residue H3498 with your feet H7272 ?

19. So my sheep fed on that which ye had trampled with your feet; and they drank the water that had been disturbed by your feet.

19. And as for my flock H6629 , they eat H7462 that which ye have trodden H4823 with your feet H7272 ; and they drink H8354 that which ye have fouled H4833 with your feet H7272 .

|
20. Therefore thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I will separate between the strong sheep and the weak sheep.
|

21. Ye did thrust with your sides and shoulders, and pushed with your horns, and ye cruelly treated all the Gr. fainting sick.
|
21. Because H3282 ye have thrust H1920 with side H6654 and with shoulder H3802 , and pushed H5055 all H3605 the diseased H2470 with your horns H7161 , till H5704 H834 ye have scattered H6327 them abroad H413 H2351 ;

|
22. Therefore I will save my sheep, and they shall not be any more for a prey; and will judge between ram and ram.
|

|
23. And I will raise up one shepherd over them, and he shall tend them, even my servant David, and he shall be their shepherd;

23. And I will set up H6965 one H259 shepherd H7462 over H5921 them , and he shall feed H7462 them, even H853 my servant H5650 David H1732 ; he shall feed H7462 them , and he H1931 shall be H1961 their shepherd H7462 .

|
24. and I the Lord will be to them a God, and David a prince in the midst of them; I the Lord have spoken it.
|

|
25. And I will make with David a covenant of peace and I will utterly destroy evil beasts from off the land; and they shall dwell in the wilderness, and sleep in the forests.
|
25. And I will make H3772 with them a covenant H1285 of peace H7965 , and will cause the evil H7451 beasts H2416 to cease H7673 out of H4480 the land H776 : and they shall dwell H3427 safely H983 in the wilderness H4057 , and sleep H3462 in the woods H3293 .

26. And I will settle them round about my mountain; and I will give you the rain, the rain of blessing.
|
26. And I will make H5414 them and the places round about H5439 my hill H1389 a blessing H1293 ; and I will cause the shower H1653 to come down H3381 in his season H6256 ; there shall be H1961 showers H1653 of blessing H1293 .
|
|
27. And the trees that are in the field shall yield their fruit, and the earth shall yield her strength, and they shall dwell in the confidence of peace on their land, and they shall know that I am the Lord, when I have broken their yoke; and I will deliver them out of the hand of those that enslaved them.
|
27. 28. And they shall no more be a spoil to the nations, and the wild beasts of the land shall no more at all devour them; and they shall dwell safely, and there shall be none to make them afraid.
|

|
|
29. And I will raise up for them a plant of peace, and they shall no more perish with hunger upon the land, and they shall no more bear the reproach off the nations.
|

30. And they shall know that I am the Lord their God, and they my people. O house of Israel, saith the Lord God,

31. ye are my sheep, even the sheep of my flock, and I am the Lord your God, saith the Lord God.
