1. Then the scribes and Pharisees came to Jesus from Jerusalem, saying,

2. Why do Your disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat bread.

2. Why G1302 do thy G4675 disciples G3101 transgress G3845 the G3588 tradition G3862 of the G3588 elders G4245 ? for G1063 they wash G3538 not G3756 their G848 hands G5495 when G3752 they eat G2068 bread G740 .

3. But answering He said to them, Why do you also transgress the command of God on account of your tradition?
|
3. But G1161 he G3588 answered G611 and said G2036 unto them G846 , Why G1302 do ye G5210 also G2532 transgress G3845 the G3588 commandment G1785 of God G2316 by G1223 your G5216 tradition G3862 ?

4. For God commanded, saying, "Honor your father and mother," Ex. 20:12; Deut. 5:16 and, "The one speaking evil of father or mother, by death let him die." Ex. 21:17
|

5. But you say, Whoever says to the father or the mother, A gift, whatever you would gain from me;
|
5. But G1161 ye G5210 say G3004 , Whosoever G3739 G302 shall say G2036 to his father G3962 or G2228 his mother G3384 , It is a gift G1435 , by whatsoever G3739 G1437 thou mightest be profited G5623 by G1537 me G1700 ;

6. and in no way he honors his father or his mother. And you annulled the command of God on account of your tradition.
|
6. And G2532 honor G5091 not G3364 his G848 father G3962 or G2228 his G848 mother G3384 , he shall be free. Thus G2532 have ye made the commandment of God of none effect G208 G3588 G1785 G2316 by G1223 your G5216 tradition G3862 .

7. Hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy concerning you, saying:

7. Ye hypocrites G5273 , well G2573 did Isaiah G2268 prophesy G4395 of G4012 you G5216 , saying G3004 ,
|
|
8. "This people draws near to Me with their mouth, and with their lips honor Me; but their heart holds far off from Me.
|
8. This G3778 people G2992 draweth nigh G1448 unto me G3427 with their G848 mouth G4750 , and G2532 honoreth G5091 me G3165 with their lips G5491 ; but G1161 their G846 heart G2588 is G568 far G4206 from G575 me G1700 .

9. But in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the precepts of men." Isa. 29:13
|

|
|
10. And calling the crowd near, He said to them, Hear and understand:
|

|
|
11. It is not the thing entering into the mouth that defiles the man, but the thing coming forth out of the mouth, this defiles the man.
|
11. Not G3756 that which goeth G1525 into G1519 the G3588 mouth G4750 defileth G2840 a man G444 ; but G235 that which cometh G1607 out G1537 of the G3588 mouth G4750 , this G5124 defileth G2840 a man G444 .

12. Then coming, the disciples said to Him, You know that hearing the Word, the Pharisees were offended?
|
12. Then G5119 came G4334 his G846 disciples G3101 , and said G2036 unto him G846 , Knowest G1492 thou that G3754 the G3588 Pharisees G5330 were offended G4624 , after they heard G191 this saying G3056 ?

|
13. But answering, He said, Every plant which My heavenly Father has not planted shall be rooted up.
|

14. Leave them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind; and if the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.
|
14. Let them alone G863 G846 : they be G1526 blind G5185 leaders G3595 of the blind G5185 . And G1161 if G1437 the blind G5185 lead G3594 the blind G5185 , both G297 shall fall G4098 into G1519 the ditch G999 .

|
15. And answering, Peter said to Him, Explain this parable to us.
|

|
|
16. But Jesus said, Are you also still without understanding?
|

|
|
17. Do you not yet perceive that everything entering into the mouth goes into the belly, and is thrown out into the waste bowl?
|
17. Do not ye yet G3768 understand G3539 , that G3754 whatsoever G3956 entereth G1531 in G1519 at the G3588 mouth G4750 goeth G5562 into G1519 the G3588 belly G2836 , and G2532 is cast out G1544 into G1519 the draught G856 ?

|
18. But the things which come out of the mouth come forth from the heart, and these defile the man.
|

|
|
19. For out of the heart come forth reasonings, evil things, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, lies, blasphemies.
|
19. For G1063 out G1537 of the G3588 heart G2588 proceed G1831 evil G4190 thoughts G1261 , murders G5408 , adulteries G3430 , fornications G4202 , thefts G2829 , false witness G5577 , blasphemies G988 :

|
20. These things are the things defiling the man. But eating with unwashed hands does not defile the man.
|

|
|
21. And going out from there, Jesus withdrew to the parts of Tyre and Sidon.
|

|
|
22. And, behold, a woman of Canaan coming forth from those borders cried out to Him, saying, Have pity on me, Lord, Son of David! My daughter is badly demon-possessed.
|

23. But He did not answer her a word. And coming near, His disciples asked Him, saying, Send her away, for she cries out after us.

24. But answering, He said, I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

25. But coming, she worshiped Him, saying, Lord, help me!
|

|
|
26. But answering, He said, It is not good to take the bread of the children to throw it to the little dogs.
|

|
27. But she said, Yes, Lord; for even the little dogs eat of the crumbs falling from the table of their lords.

27. And G1161 she G3588 said G2036 , Truth G3483 , Lord G2962 : yet G1063 the G3588 dogs G2952 eat G2068 of G575 the G3588 crumbs G5589 which fall G4098 from G575 their G848 masters G2962 ' table G5132 .

28. Then answering, Jesus said to her, O woman, great is your faith; let it be to you as you desire. And her daughter was healed from that hour.
|

29. And moving from there, Jesus came beside the Sea of Galilee. And going up into the mountain, He sat there.

29. And G2532 Jesus G2424 departed G3327 from thence G1564 , and came G2064 nigh unto G3844 the G3588 sea G2281 of Galilee G1056 ; and G2532 went up G305 into G1519 a mountain G3735 , and sat down G2521 there G1563 .

30. And great crowds came to Him, having with them lame ones, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others. And they flung them down at the feet of Jesus. And He healed them;

31. so that the crowds marveled, seeing dumb ones speaking, maimed ones sound, lame ones walking, and blind ones seeing. And they glorified the God of Israel.

31. Insomuch that G5620 the G3588 multitude G3793 wondered G2296 , when they saw G991 the dumb G2974 to speak G2980 , the maimed G2948 to be whole G5199 , the lame G5560 to walk G4043 , and G2532 the blind G5185 to see G991 : and G2532 they glorified G1392 the G3588 God G2316 of Israel G2474 .

32. But having called His disciples near, Jesus said, I am filled with pity on the crowd, because they already have remained with Me three days and have nothing they may eat. And I do not desire to send them away fasting, that they may not faint in the way.
|

33. And His disciples said to Him, From where in a deserted place will come to us so many loaves as to satisfy so great a crowd?
|
33. And G2532 his G846 disciples G3101 say G3004 unto him G846 , Whence G4159 should we G2254 have so much G5118 bread G740 in G1722 the wilderness G2047 , as G5620 to fill G5526 so great G5118 a multitude G3793 ?

|
34. And Jesus said to them, How many loaves do you have? And they said, Seven, and a few small fish.
|

|
35. And He ordered the crowds to recline on the ground.

|
|
36. And taking the seven loaves and the fish, giving thanks, He broke and gave to His disciples, and the disciples to the crowd.
|

37. And all ate and were satisfied. And they took up the left over pieces, seven lunch baskets full.
|
37. And G2532 they did all G3956 eat G5315 , and G2532 were filled G5526 : and G2532 they took up G142 of the G3588 broken G2801 meat that was left G4052 seven G2033 baskets G4711 full G4134 .

|
38. And the ones eating were four thousand men, apart from women and children.

38. And G1161 they that did eat G2068 were G2258 four thousand G5070 men G435 , beside G5565 women G1135 and G2532 children G3813 .
|
|
39. And sending away the crowds He went into the boat and came to the borders of Magdala.
|
39. And G2532 he sent away G630 the G3588 multitude G3793 , and took ship G1684 G1519 G4143 , and G2532 came G2064 into G1519 the G3588 coasts G3725 of Magdala G3093 .
